About US
Mission Statement: With humanity, humility and honor, to heal by providing exceptionally intelligent and responsive healthcare and education for as many as we can reach.
Albert Einstein Healthcare Network® started with just 22 beds in 1866 as the Jewish Hospital. In 2016, we celebrated our 150th year of service to the community.
In 1952, the Jewish Hospital merged with two others in the city—Mount Sinai and Northern Liberties hospitals. Taking on the name of renowned scientist Albert Einstein—who graciously gave his permission —the new network eventually grew to what it is today: a private, not-for-profit organization with several major hospitals, many outpatient centers and numerous primary care and specialty care locations throughout the Philadelphia region.
We began with what was, in the late 1800s, a remarkable and forward-thinking creed: to provide medical care to "the sick and wounded without regard to creed, color or nationality."
Today, we continue to honor that legacy, and our primary mission remains true to the founders’ intent—and our health system has grown and evolved in ways they could not have imagined. We proudly provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, and have gained a reputation for excellence and innovation.
Our Albert Einstein Healthcare Network® facilities include:

about us
Our Mission: To prevail over cancer, marshaling heart and mind in bold scientific discovery, pioneering prevention, and compassionate care.
Fox Chase Cancer Center, part of the Temple University Health System, is committed clinical excellence, research expertise, and community health earned us a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation as one of the first comprehensive cancer centers in the country and one of only 49 in the nation to earn this full designation by the federal government’s principal agency for cancer research and training.
At Fox Chase, we diagnose and treat every kind of cancer and offer patients state-of-the-art and best practice treatments as well as clinical trials to cure their cancer.
Our researchers have won the highest awards in their fields, including two Nobel Prizes, a Kyoto Prize in basic sciences, a Lasker Clinical Research Award, an Albert Szent-Györgyi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research, American Cancer Society Medals of Honor, memberships in the National Academy of Sciences, and induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Our physicians are also routinely recognized in national rankings, and the Center’s nursing program has received the Magnet status for excellence four consecutive times.
Today, Fox Chase conducts a broad array of nationally competitive basic, translational, and clinical research, with special programs in cancer prevention, detection, survivorship, and community outreach.
Underlying all this exceptional skill is unparalleled compassion. Our mission-driven culture leads each of us—regardless of position, both long-timers and newcomers, those involved directly in patient care and those who support the many other operations of our institution—to claim a personal sense of ownership in prevailing over cancer. The stories of our patients and their loved ones illustrate the high quality of care at Fox Chase and the superior patient experience delivered by our faculty and staff. It is something that extends well beyond medical treatment to include a level of kindness and concern, which is at the core of our mission to prevail over cancer.

about us
Mission Statement: We Improve Lives.
Jefferson University Hospitals and Thomas Jefferson University are partners in providing excellent clinical and compassionate care for our patients in the Philadelphia region, educating the health professionals of tomorrow in a variety of disciplines and discovering new knowledge that will define the future of clinical care.
As an academic medical center, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals believe in the importance of an excellent clinical setting for our patients and as a foundation for the learning experience of Jefferson students and residents. It is within our various clinical settings that scientists, residents and attending physicians, medical students, nursing and allied health students, and technologists learn their profession and learn to work together as a team and help define the future of clinical care.
Jefferson University Hospitals continue to take pride in the quality and variety of healthcare services provided to citizens of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. The Hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Department of Health of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
